NCOA

National Change of Address

If you currently mail using the Presorted First Class service you are probably familiar with the requirement for National Change Of Address (NCOA) processing. NCOA processing is required on all presorted mail - including Presort Standard mail - commonly referred to as "bulk" mail. Your list is required to have NCOA processing every 95 days.

Why is the USPS making this change you may wonder? It is an attempt to reduce the billions of pieces of undeliverable-as-addressed mail that is processed every year, 70% of which is incorrectly addressed. Much of this mail ends up in landfills or is returned and never delivered. By reducing the volume of undeliverable mail the USPS hopes to contain costs and reduce this waste.

Although these changes will increase the amount of "red tape" required to process a mailing, we are committed to making NCOA processing as simple as possible for our clients. To qualify for the full presort mail discounts it is necessary for all customers to fill out a USPS NCOA Link Processing Acknowledgment Form annually.
